Patient Information

Patient Rights & Responsibilities

Preparing for Surgery:

  • Your physician will schedule your procedure with the Surgery Center. A member of our staff will contact you prior to your surgery to review your health history, preadmission testing requirements, if any, and arrival and procedure times.
  • You must not eat or drink after midnight the night before your surgery unless you have received special instructions from our staff. We will also instruct you regarding your daily medications.
  • We encourage you to visit the Center before your surgery to familiarize yourself with the facility and staff.

On the Day of Surgery:

  • Please bring your insurance card and some form of picture identification.
  • Arrange for a responsible adult drive you to and from the Center. It is helpful to have this person at the Center to review your discharge instructions, but they do not need to stay with you the entire time you are at the Center.
  • Dress in comfortable clothes, and do not wear any jewelry or bring valuables. You will need to change into a patient gown at the Center.

We are here to meet your needs. Please call us at (240) 420-0192 if you have any questions.
